I love the Holidays as much as the next person but for some reason I love the New Year even more!

It’s the start of the New Year, which always reminds me of freshness, life, and a renewed vigor…. whether referring to life in general or skin and makeup, it’s so exciting to me!

Here are some of my most yummy ways to beat the winter skin blues and start fresh with your skin and makeup.

SKIN:

Daily Microfoliant by Dermologica, $50 at Ulta.
Dermalogica Microexfoliant is a unique, rice-based enzyme powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal.

Use this as a scrub a couple times a week.
LOVES!!!!!

Nerium AD, $110
No, I don’t sell this but I use it and it’s revolutionizing my skin!!!! I’ve never actually had a skin care I get excited to use every night.
I know it’s expensive but so far it’s totally worth it! I also use 2 pumps instead of the suggested 4 pumps so hopefully it will last me 2 months :)

PRODUCTS:

Benefit Watts Up, $30 at Ulta or Sephora.
This is a soft focus highlighter with a delicious luminous glow.
Such a fab product to add to your fresh skin or to fake that freshness.

MAC Blush in Fleur Power $19.50 @any MAC store or counter…this is the most
perfectly perfect pink.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Eye Palette $50.00 at Ulta or Sephora.
Or the smaller version Naked Basics Eye Palette, $27.
With the exact amount of shimmer and colors that enhance any skin tones it’s the perfect all-in-one shadow set.

Eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balm SPF 15, $3.50 at Target or Ulta.
Delicious flavors and your lips will be in for a treat.

FUN IDEA:

Kool-Aid lip stain.

Thanks to pinterest we find amazing fun makeup doo-hickeys.

Instructions are simple:

A. Find the Kool-Aid color you like (descriptions will be listed below).
B. Dampen your finger; dip in the powder to pick up one coat.
C. Rub your finger all over your lips. FYI – it’s deeeeelicious!
D. Dampen Q-tip and rub it over your lips to smooth edges and clumps.
Repeat this if needed.

Colors:

Cherry = orange red
Tropical Punch = bright red
Peach Mango = peach
Pink Lemonade = Barbie pink
Strawberry Kiwi = light red
Grape = purple

MAKEUP BRUSHES:

I don’t have some new and life-changing brushes to suggest this time however what I’m about to say will possibly make you feel like your life has changed.

CLEAAAAAAAAN THEEEEEEEM!!!!!!!

Take a tall glass, put about 1/2 inch of Baby Shampoo in the bottom.

Fill it halfway with hot or warm water.

Take 5 or 6 eyeshadow brushes and submerge them in the water and mush them around.

Rinse each one individually with hot water, squeeze out the access water.

Reshape the brushes and lay them on the counter with the bristles out over the edge so the air can circulate and they’ll dry faster.
Your face and your makeup with thank you.

Beauty is not in the makeup you wear but what’s in your heart.
Let’s start this New Year off fresh not only in life, makeup, and skin but also by seeing ourselves how our Daddy God sees us, fresh, clean, pure and beautiful.
