Get Empowered

A new day is dawning! God is awaking His people to the urgency of the hour and the potential for true revival! We need a spiritual revolution to take place in our generation that spans across our cities, country and around the world.

In the generations past, men and women have given Christianity a certain “look” that developed through religious traditions and mindsets. However, we are living in a new day! People are tired of the way Christianity has been portrayed and they are searching for a genuine truth to live their lives by.  We, as the true believers of Jesus, need to begin to change the perceptions of the world towards God and Christianity and bring a whole new attitude and face to the God that we serve.

Jesus was real! He lived a life that was radical, yet He was gentle in his approach to people.  He revealed God to people in a way that was so powerful and different than anyone had ever done before Him.  He did not get caught up in the religious traditions of His day, yet He affected it so deeply that they considered His influence to be a fatal threat to their control.

Jesus’ life was one of balance between action and reflection, submission and resistance, denying the bigotry of the society around Him.  He never judged a person based upon gender or race.  He fought against the status quo.  He was not always politically correct, but he did exemplify a life of freedom that was more secure than anyone had ever experienced before.  He held higher standards of love and forgiveness that shamed the religious leaders. Jesus was then, and still is the Light of the World and He has commissioned us to be that same light to our world!

It is my desire to do my part by inspiring women of all ages, cultures and backgrounds to pursue and become all that God has destined them to be.  My ambition is to encourage women to discover their God-given purpose and induce the level of commitment necessary to see it come to pass.  My goal is to reveal God’s unique plan for women to use their gifts, talents and abilities to make a profound difference on a local, national and global level. Powers Ministries International is committed to “Empower Women” all over the world with the message of hope and power to make a difference in our generation.

We have begun this year by conducting a conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand in February, with two more conferences scheduled in Fort Worth, Texas, (October 8-9), and Lahore, Pakistan in November.

At these conferences, women are encouraged to shine with the light of Jesus in the dark world around them. The Empower Women’s Conference is to help women understand the power they have to influence those they come in contact with in their everyday life.  We provide an atmosphere where dreams and ideas can be ignited in women’s hearts, and where their spirits can be inspired with the passion and purpose of God to step out and begin doing something to help hurting humanity.  We urge women everywhere to break out of their “comfort zones” and put a demand on the gifts and talents that are within them. These conferences are to help women understand that they can “do something” to make a difference right now, right where they are.

We will also bring an awareness of issues that face our world, and how we can provide solutions to these issues if we network together to get the job done. We will address issues on a local, national and global level. But, awareness is not enough…we must empower them!

One issue that compels me is that of human trafficking. It is my desire to do my part to help stop the exploitation and suffering of the individuals that are currently at risk or are already involved in this human trafficking, abuse and slavery.  So, I will empower women by providing information regarding this issue. We must first bring awareness to the problem of human trafficking.  However, awareness is not enough.  We must develop a strategic plan to provide prevention, rescue and aftercare for those who are rescued.  To truly make a difference, resources and effort must be effectively and aggressively aimed at each stage of this enormous problem.  There is still so much yet to be discovered and strategies to be developed, but we, as Christians, must do something to help these people!

Through these conferences, we will provide dynamic teaching and inspiration from the Word of God in an atmosphere that is charged with faith and completely surrendered to the Holy Spirit. Our goal is to provide a place where creative ideas can flourish and strategies for change can begin to be implemented.  We will introduce the women to successful organizations that could be potential places for them to get involved, as well as the opportunity to network with other women who also have a heart to bring about change. I believe that this gathering will be a springboard for each one’s journey, and will fuel the passion within the women to truly make a difference in their world.

How awesome it will be to see these women impacting the lives of children and other women with the love of Jesus. You are running after God's heart, and I can't wait to be a part of what the Lord is doing through you.

  5. "We, as the true believers of Jesus, need to begin to change the perceptions of the world towards God and Christianity and bring a whole new attitude and face to the God that we serve." AMEN!!! I love this and I love how you described Jesus because that is what I see when I read about Him as well. I pray that my life would never become so mainstream that it isn't at times an offense to religion.

  6. Julie, I think you have hit the heart of where a lot of women are at in the church today.
Thank you so much for sharing your heart and inspiring women to make a true difference right where they are at!

Really looking forward to attending the Empower Women's Conference in October in Fort Worth!!

  7. Julie,
I love it that you are holding conferences for women in Chiang Mai and Lahore, both places where some women are oppressed. The message of the gospel will empower them with hope. I admire your courage.

  8. Julie- What an amazing ministry! Empowering women to do what God's called them to do! And I love the ministry to those who have been exploited and abused- because there are many of us who have a story we could tell and you offer hope for those who would otherwise have no where to go and who might get right back into those abusive situations. May the Lord bless you and bring the finances and workers into this much needed ministry, Celeste! =)
